Mission
The Buffalo County Responsible Beverage Server Coalition was formed with the purpose of eliminating alcohol sales to minors and intoxicated persons.
History
The Responsible Beverage Coalition formed in 2007. Local retailers in Buffalo County joined together in order to help increase awareness in the community related to underage drinking and to promote those who were taking responsible action in order to prevent the sale of alcohol to underage patrons. We would like to encourage you and your staff to participate in this coalition in an effort to share ideas and best practices.

TIPS Program
The Responsible Beverage Server Curriculum currently being offered in Buffalo County is the TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) program. This is a skills based training designed to prevent intoxication, alcohol impaired driving, and underage drinking. This is a four hour training and is approved by the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission.

New trainers will volunteer their time in order to train individuals and businesses on the responsible service of alcohol. Please welcome our new trainers: Ryan Ohri (Kearney Police Dept.), Trevor Schaben (Thunderhead Brewery), Lorelei McCracken (Buffalo County Attorney's Office), Linda Neemeyer (Speedee Mart), Mariana Cruz (UNK Spanish and Translation Student) and Lacrica Olson (Buffalo County Community Partners Coalition Coordinator). New trainers will begin training in May.
TIPS classes are held monthly. The cost of training is $30 per person. For more information or to register for a class, please contact Lacrica Olson, Coalition Coordinator at (308)865-2283 or by email at lolson@bcchp.org.
