In 2009, 249 individuals representing 26 businesses were trained in the Responsible Beverage Server Coalition’s training program.
Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) curriculum is offered through the Responsible Beverage Servers Coalition in an effort to assist businesses in Buffalo County to eliminate the sale of alcohol to minors and intoxicated patrons.
In 2008, 111 individuals were trained. Trainings are held monthly for owners, servers, management staff and employees for $30 per person.
Upcoming classes will be held in Kearney on the following dates: Mar. 18, 28.
“The curriculum is a four-hour class aimed at eliminating alcohol sales to minors and intoxicated persons,” Lacrica Olson, coalition coordinator, said.
“The training program may also be offered in Spanish, by request.”
